Panjab University Bachelor of Laws [PU LLB] 2017

Exam Description:

About PU LLB 2017:

If a candidate is clear of the Eligibility criteria given out by the University, then PU LLB is then entrance exam you attend to qualify for one of the undergraduate law degrees at Panjab University ( B.A. / B.Com. LLB Hons. ) conducted by the Department of Law. The merit list for admission is prepared out of 200 marks, based on the cumulative score of the candidate in the entrance test and qualifying examination. The weight of marks for PU LLB is taken as such;

50% of 200 (100 marks for Entrance Test)
50% of 200 (100 marks for the Qualifying Examination)
Note: The candidates who have passed/appeared in the qualifying examination from any of the following universities (declared as fake by the UGC) are  not eligible to appear in the PU LLB Entrance Tests, as these institutions have been derecognized by the Panjab University.

Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria for PU LLB 2017:

The PU LLB Entrance Test for Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) shall be open to all such candidates who possess the qualifications as mentioned below:

Those candidates who have passed / appeared in the final year of Bachelor’s degree in any faculty of the Panjab University with at least 45% of the aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/BC candidates).
A Bachelor’s degree in any faculty of any other University recognized as equivalent to the corresponding degree of the Panjab University with at least 45% of the aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/BC candidates). Provided that in case of candidates having Bachelor’s degree of the Panjab University or any other University recognized by the Syndicate, through Modern Indian Languages (Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi/Gurmukhi script) and / or in a Classical Language (Sanskrit or Persian or Arabic), the aggregate of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/BC candidates) shall be calculated by taking into account the percentage of aggregate marks that he /she had secured at the language examination, excluding the marks for the additional optional paper English and the elective subject taken together.
Master’s Degree in any subject from the Panjab University.
A Master’s degree from any other university recognized as equivalent to the corresponding post-graduate degree of the Panjab University.
Note: The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualifications for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission in LL.B. course.

Eligible Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin/NRI Candidates, who are in India and desired to seek admission in this category, will compete amongst themselves for the seats created for them by appearing in the PU LLB Entrance Test. Those living abroad at the time of entrance test will be exempted from the test.

The fee structure for all such candidates will be prescribed by the Panjab University in the Admission Brochure. Foreign students shall have to comply with Visa and other requirements of the Govt. of India, U.T. Administration, Chandigarh as well as Panjab University, Chandigarh, as prescribed by them from time to time.

Syllabus

Syllabus for PU LLB 2017:

The entrance exam, PU LLB 2017 Question Paper will be a collection of questions which challenge you in the areas of General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Legal Awareness based questions, Reading, Writing, and your Command over the English language.

English Comprehension: The English section will test the candidate's proficiency in English based on comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, candidates will be assessed on their understanding of the passage given, it's central theme and meanings of the words used, etc. while the grammar section will focus on correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in the sentences with appropriate words, etc.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs: The candidates will be assessed on their general awareness including static general knowledge. Questions will be based on current affairs.

Legal Aptitude: This section is the most important one as it tests the candidate's interest towards law, problem-solving ability, research skills and such. The candidates have to assess the given statements and bring out a logical answer as the outcome.

Logical Reasoning: The sole purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the candidate's ability to identify patterns, logical links, and rectify arguments. It includes a variety of questions based on sequences, analogies, syllogisms, etc. However, visual reasoning will not be tested.

You need to register online by providing essential details including Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and E-Mail Id and generate an SBI bank challan for PU LLB Application form 2017.

Once you have registered and paid the application fees for PU LLB 2017 Exam, log in with registered ID and password.

Next, you need to upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature and fill the PU LLB application form 2017.

After filling the application form, you also need to ensure that the information you’ve filled in are correct and click on ‘Submit’ button.

You can also make changes if required including the photograph and signature before the last date of submission of PU LLB 2017 Application Form.
