The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralised test for admission to 17 prominent National Law Universities in India.
The test is taken after the Higher Secondary Examination or the 12th grade for admission to integrated undergraduate programmes in Law and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws(LLM) programmes conducted by these law universities.
This test was conducted for the first time on 11 May 2008.
The two-hour admission test consists of an objective type covering questions on Elementary Mathematics or Numerical Ability, English with Comprehension, General knowledge and Current affairs, Legal Aptitude, and Logical reasoning.
The CLAT scores are used by other private law colleges across the country and Public Sector Undertakings for admissions and recruitment respectively.
CLAT 2017 is being conducted by Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna. In 201, CLAT exam was conducted by Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT PG 2019:
Only Indian nationals and NRIs are eligible for CLAT test.
The foreign nationals desirous of taking admission to any course in any of the participating Law Universities may directly contact the concerned University having seats for foreign nationals and check on their eligibility.

Syllabus for CLAT PG 2019:
The examination syllabus will be prepared by the examination authority.
The syllabus of CLAT changes every year.

Application Process CLAT PG 2019:
Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) Patna will begin inviting CLAT 2019 application from January 1 for admissions to five-year integrated and two-year postgraduate law degree programs.
Candidates can fill application form of CLAT in only online mode after they have registered themselves for the Common Law Admission Test.
The candidates will receive a CLAT 2019 user id and password after they have registered for the national level law entrance exam. The user id and password can be used as login details for filling CLAT 2019 application forms through CLAT Online Application Processing System (COAPS).
The application processing system has been facilitated by CLAT 2019 committee to help candidates in knowing the status of the application, Admit Card, Results, and other events of the law admission process.
COAPS allows aspirants to enter and save partially filled details in the application form of CLAT, and resume filling the form later on.
Candidates can submit the CLAT applications only after they have entered complete details including uploading of photograph and signature beside remittance of fees.
