Eligibility criteria for TNEA 2017:
The University decides the eligibility criteria for candidates appearing for this examination. The eligibility criteria for the candidates are given below:
The eligibility criteria for the candidate is to have passed 12th board exam or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Those who have cleared their 12th grades from outside the state must attach a Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate to cover-up all the eligibility criteria.
Candidates applying for TNEA 2017 must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in their 12th or equivalent exam.
Shortlisting and seat allotment of the candidates who have to fulfil the eligibility criteria for TNEA 2017 will be done on the basis of their marks in class 11th and class 12th.
All the applicants must have passed the 10+2 Examination, however, their minimum required percentages are different.
Those applying against the General Quota must have secured 50%. Those applying against the Backward Class Quota must have secured 45%. Those applying against the MBC, DNC, SC/SCA/ST Quotas must have secured 40%.
If the applicants have failed to satisfy the eligibility conditions, they should have passed in Related Subjects, Vocational Theory and Practical put together.
For B.E./B.Tech. applicants, the vocational subjects are General Machinist, Electrical Machines and Appliances, Electronic Equipment, Draughtsman Civil, Auto Mechanic and Textile Technology as the eligibility condition.
Rounding of marks and normalised marks will not be considered for eligibility.
Those candidates who qualify for admission need to provide the original and a photocopy of the documents.

Syllabus for TNEA 2017:
The syllabus for the examination consists of Maths, Physics and Chemistry of 10+2 level. The subjects are mentioned on the admit card as well according to the course taken by the candidate who has fulfilled the eligibility criteria. The detailed syllabus is as follows:

Application process for TNEA 2017:
The filing of form for TNEA begins from the first week of May 2017. The candidate can login to the official website. Candidates who have satisfied the eligibility criteria need to fill the form online and send it via post to Secretary along with the requisite documents.
The process of application for TNEA will last from the last week of May 2017.
The candidates are advised to refer to the exam pattern, syllabus and counselling details as well.
The registration process for TNEA involves:
Visit the official website and fill in your name, date of birth, gender and email id.
Click the Proceed button.
Fill in the personal and education details.
Note the Application number.
Payment of fees through Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card or Demand Draft.

The candidate who has covered-up all the eligibility criteria is required to attach photocopies of following documents:
Candidate’s Class 10th Mark Sheet
Candidate’s Class 12th Mark Sheet
Candidate’s Transfer Certificate, issued by the school
Demand draft, if applicable
Permanent Community Certificate Card for candidates belonging to ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC and BCM
Class XII Admit Card
Nativity Certificate, if applicable(in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate)
First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration, if applicable
Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee certificate, if applicable
Relevant certificates for children of Ex-Serviceman / Freedom Fighter / Differently Abled Person and Eminent Sports Persons, if applicable.
Payment of fee for TNEA:
The candidate who has fulfilled the eligibility criteria can pay the fees through the following methods:
The Application fees for the examination is Rs. 500/- for general category.
The application fees for candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ SCA category is Rs. 250/-
The applicant can pay the fees through: Net banking, Debit card, Credit card, Demand draft.
