Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test [MHT CET] 2019

Exam Description:

MHCET or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is conducted by the DTE(Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra for admissions to first year Engineering and Technology programmes (BE/BTech) and Pharmacy programmes(BPharma / PharmaD) in the state.

MHCET 2019 was held on May 10.

MHCET 2019 exam dates will be released soon.

Eligibility

MHT-CET 2019  eligiblity:

All aspirants who have passed / appeared in the qualifying examination i.e. HSC/12th Standard examination or its equivalent examination and having Indian Nationality are eligible for appearing for MHT-CET. There is no age limit for admission and appearing to MHT-CET.

1. Candidature Type 

 Maharashtra State Candidature: A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.

Type A

Candidates passing SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognised institution in Maharashtra State.

 

Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra;

Place of passing of Qualifying Examination falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
Type B
A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.
Place of Domicile Certificate issuing authority falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
Type C
A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.
Place of posting of Father or Mother of Candidate falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
Type D
A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.
Place of posting of Father or Mother of Candidate or the place of settlement of the Father or Mother if retired or the place of last posting if deputed outside Maharashtra falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
Type E
Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.
Candidate shall be considered for the Outside Home University or State Level Seats.


 2. All India Candidature: The Candidates having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.

3.  Minority Candidature:  The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or  Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.

4. Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature: 

  • The children of citizens, who are displaced from Jammu and Kashmir to any part of India or from unsafe border area of Jammu and Kashmir to a relatively safer place in Jammu and Kashmir from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities.
  • The children of officers belonging to Indian Administrative Services (IAS) or Indian Police Services (IPS) or Indian Foreign Services (IFS) and children of staff belonging to military and paramilitary forces transferred to Jammu and Kashmir to combat terrorist activities and joined the post on or before the last date for submission of application for admission; or
  • The children of staff and officers of Jammu and Kashmir police engaged in combating terrorism are eligible under this category; Note: However as preference is given to the J & K Migrant candidates appeared for JEE (Main) over MHT-CET are advised to appear for JEE(Main).


5. Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National – These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET.

  • It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature seeking admission to B./BTech. However All India Candidature & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature candidates may or may not appear for MHT-CET as Score of JEE(Main) Paper I shall be preferred over MHTCET for admission to BE/BTech
  •  It is mandatory to appear for MHT-CET for candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature All India Candidature, & Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature seeking admission to BPharm / PharmD

The eligibility criteria for MHCET 2019 for engineering students:    

  • Interested candidates should be an Indian NationalThey should have passed/appeared the HSC (Std.XII)Examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with one of the Chemistry 
  •  or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects
  • They should have secured at least required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together;
  • There is no age limit for MHCET

Eligibility criteria for Candidates belonging to Person with Disability:

In addition to the basic qualification mentioned above, candidate who is suffering from any one of the following permanent disability is eligible to seek admission against seats reserved for Persons with Disability candidates (i.e. Candidate who is visually impaired (blind) Candidate type- P1, Candidate who is speech & hearing impaired (deaf & dumb) Candidate type- P2, Candidate who has orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Spastic Candidate type -P3), provided they submit a certificate clearly stating that the extent of disability is not less than 40% and the disability is of permanent nature.

Admission to Mining Engineering course:

Female candidates are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.

Syllabus

From 2019, the questions will be based on the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Secondary Education. According to the official website, 20% of the weightage will be given to Class XI curriculum and 80% of the weightage will be given to Class XII curriculum.

There would be no negative marking but the exam would be at par with JEE Main 2019 for PCM. The difficulty level of Biology will be at par with NEET (UG). The questions will typically be application based.

MHCET questions will be set on the entire syllabus of PCM/B subjects of Class XII. 

Mode of application

To register for MH CET 2019, candidate have to visit the official website and do the following:

  1. Click "MHT-CET-2019 Registration" and fill-in the online form
  2. The information to be provided includes personal details such as name, email id, mobile number, course, etc.
  3. Candidates then need to upload a recent colour passport size photograph and signature.
  4. Applicants will be prompted to enter his/her valid email id, mobile No. and a password on the first login and these must be carefully noted and retained for all future correspondence with MHT-CET Office.

TO UPLOAD PHOTOGRAPHS AND SIGNATURES

Applicants are required to upload their scanned (digital) recent colour photograph and signature, whose size should not be more than *50 KB per file. The online application system will not allow to upload files larger than 50 KB. Please note that the Photograph and Signature should be only in "Jpeg" format and file name of Photograph and signature should preferably be photo.jpeg and sign.jpeg respectively.

While uploading the photograph, students must take care of following points:

  • Take a recent color passport size photograph against a light/white background. Make sure the face on the photograph is clear as the application might get rejected.
  • File size of the photograph should not be more than 50 KB per file, otherwise it will not be allowed by the System to upload.
  • To reduce the size, candidate can crop the image of their passport size photograph in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor.

While uploading the signature, students must take care of following points:

  • The candidate himself/herself should sign (no capital letters) on a white paper with a black ink pen.
  • They must then scan the signature in 200 dpi (dots per inch) scanner resolution settings and the file size should be less than 50 KB in jpeg format.
  • To reduce the size, applicants must crop the image of the signature in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor and ensure that only the signature portion is cropped and not the entire A4 paper.
  • Once the Photograph and Signature is correctly uploaded, candidates can proceed further to generate the bank challan for the payment through 'State Bank of India'.

    1.  Candidate has to download and print the MHT-CET bank challan on an A4 size paper. Make sure the bank challan has the MHT-CET-2019 Registration No., Name of the candidate, Date of Birth and  date of registration printed on it.
    2. The bank challan will be in two parts. Applicants need to take this bank challan to the SBI branch for the payment procedure.
    3. Applicants need to pay Rs 800.00 for Open Candidates and Rs 600.00 for Reservation Category Candidates within 48hrs of registration. Please note that this amount is not refundable.
    4. On making the payment in cash, the bank will enter the date of payment, Journal No/Bank Transaction ID, Branch Name & Code and put a bank seal on each part of the bank challan. The bank will also retain the Bank's copy of the bank challan with them and return the other part of the bank challan to the candidate.
    5. The candidate needs to visit the official website of MHT-CET-2019 using his/her MHT-CET-2019 Registration No and password after 24 hours of making the payment to confirm the Bank transaction ID No. and date of payment.
    6. Click on to generate MHT-CET Confirmation Page and save the information for future use.Take a print out of the same to complete the registration process.
