Goa Common Entrance Test [GCET] 2017

Exam Description:

About GCET:

  • Goa Entrance Test or GCET is a national level entrance examination that is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa.  The examinations are conducted for admission to undergraduate programmes.
  • This national level GCET examination is offline based and only those candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can apply for the examination. The Institute provides admission to courses in engineering, medicine, allied health sciences, nursing and Ayurveda.  The GCET examination is conducted in May and there are around 1300 seats all across Goa.

Eligibility
Eligibility criteria for GCET 2017:

To be eligible to appear for GCET, the candidate requires the following:

GCET Eligibility for homeopathy:
  • Applicants must have passed 12th or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology and English subjects.
  • Candidates must have secured 50% marks in PCB group for general candidates, 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates and 45% for PH candidates for them to be eligible.
GCET Eligibility for engineering:
  • Should have passed the class XII examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination or the candidate is not eligible.
  • Must have studied English, Physics, and Mathematics as the main subjects along with Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology.
  • Must have scored minimum 45% aggregate (40% marks for reserved category candidates) marks in 10+2 examinations.
  • Applicants must be a person of India to be eligible.
  • However, NRI/PIO/OCI candidates are also eligible to apply for seats under NRI criteria. Foreign national will have to apply to the Government of India, as well.
  • For admission into UG Medical courses, the candidate should be 17 years old, as on 31 December 2017 to be eligible. On the other hand, age limit criterion is not applicable for admission in UG Engineering courses.
GCET Eligibility Criteria For B.Arch:-

  • The admission in B.Arch courses will be held through NATA 2017. So, candidates will have to fulfill its eligibility criteria. Apart from this, candidates must have also cleared 10+2, with Mathematics as a core subject. In 10+2, the aggregate of marks, of the candidate, should not be less than 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) or the candidate does not remain eligible.

Mode of application
Application process for GCET 2017:
  • The filing of GCET form begins from March 2017, you can log in to the official GCET website http://dtegoa.gov.in. Two application form will be issued for Goa Cet 2017 exam. It will be distinguished as Form-A and Form-B.Candidates are required to fill Form-A, to apply for the entrance examination. Whereas, Form-B will be filled for the admission into professional degree courses.
  • The process of GCET application will last from March 2017 to April 2017. The registration process involves physical submission of the form at the notified Reception Center.

 Registration of applicant:

  • Visit the official GCET website and download the form.
  • Choose your preferred GCET exam center.
  • Complete details about your education.
  • Check the information you entered once again and then submit it at the center along with three identical photographs. The candidate is required to submit Class 10 and 12 passing certificate along with Class 12 hall ticket.
  • The GCET forms are accepted until last week of April 2017 with a late fee of Rs.1000/-.

The GCET application fee is Rs. 1500/- .
