About MH CET Law:

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law (MH CET Law 2017) is a state level entrance examination for law students conducted by the Government of Maharashtra.MH CET Law exam is organized for those students looking for admissions in LL.B (Three Year) and LL.B (Integrated-Five Year) programmes offered by the colleges across Maharashtra. On the basis of the MH CET Law scores, many law colleges across Maharashtra offer admission to students into the law courses.

Eligibility Criteria for MH CET Law:

The candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The candidates satisfying the following eligibility criteria are eligible for admission to LLB Programmes

  • Candidates of Indian nationality are eligible to apply for the MH CET Law exam. 
  • For LL.B (five-year) programmes, students must have passed 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board securing 45% marks for general and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates to be eligible for the MH CET Law exam. 
  • For LL.B (Three year) course, candidates must hold a graduate or post-graduate degree with obtaining minimum 45% marks for general candidate and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates to be eligible for the MH CET Law exam. 
  • Students who are appearing in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply for the MH CET Law exam. 
  • There is no age limit to be eligible for the MH CET Law exam. 
  • If the possesses a 10+2 qualifying certificate through Open University system without having any basic qualifications, the candidate will not be considered eligible for MH CET Law exam.

MH CET Law Syllabus:

  • Legal Aptitude: This subject will test candidate interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem solving ability. Questions will be framed with the help of legal proposition and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be true in real sense candidates will have to assume truth of these propositions and answer the questions drawing well supported conclusions.
  • General Knowledge with Current Affairs: The test includes topic such as history, geography, general science, economics, civics and current affairs of the past one-two year. This subject is to assess the knowledge of the recent happening and Awareness of the world.
  • Logical and Analytical Reasoning: Logical Reasoning- This subject is to test the candidates ability to identify patterns, logical link and rectify in logical arguments. It will include a wide variety off logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, completing arguments, drawing well supported conclusions, reasoning by analogy, applying principles or rules. Analytical Reasoning- This subject is to measure the ability to understand the structure of relationship and to draw logical conclusions about the structures. It includes reasoning deductively from a set of statements and rules or principles that describe the relationship among persons things or events.
  • English: Vocabulary (synonyms antonyms and analogies etc.) proficiency ( idioms and phrases , one word substitution, sentence improvement and rearrangement , fill in the blanks etc.) English usages error (common errors spotting errors inappropriate usages of words spelling mistakes etc.), English comprehension with minimum 2 passages followed by 5 to 10 questions that test reading and reasoning abilities.
  • Basic Mathematics: The mathematics questions will be set from 10th and 12th level of various topic including profit and loss speed and distance time and work algebra averages permutation and combination Venn diagrams.

Application process for MH CET Law:

The MH CET Law application form is made available to the eligible candidates in the month of May. Candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria before filling the MH CET Law application form. The MH CET Law application form can only be filled online on the official website of MH CET Law.

  • Enter your basic details including Name, Parent’s Name, Gender, Date of Birth,and other necessary details as required in the MH CET Law application form. 
  • Verify the entered details in MH CET Law Application Form
  • Upload photo and signature in the MH CET Law Application Form
  • Pay the MH CET law application fee through debit/ credit card and net banking.
  • Download and print the MH CET law application form for further reference.
