Exam Description:

About KCET EXAM 2017:

Karnataka State Entrance Examination (KCET) is conducted for degree level course admission to various institutes in the State of Karnataka. In order to obtain admission in undergraduate medical or dental courses through KEA, a candidate must appear in KCET Medical 2017 and qualify for the KCET Exam with requisite percentage as per their category. Karnataka CET (KCET) Medical 2017 is state level entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to around 2400 MBBS seats in 28 medical and 600 BDS seats in 24 Dental colleges of Karnataka.
KCET Exam is a state level examination and is conducted every year in May. KCET examination enables candidates to seek admissions for bachelors programmes in Medical, Dental, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Naturapathy, Yoga, Engineering, B.Sc Agriculture, Sericulture, Forestry, Horticulture, B-Pharma and D-Pharma. Non Karnataka candidates cannot appear for this examination. All candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can apply for the pen paper based KCET examination.

Eligibility Criteria For KCET EXAM 2017:

Basic Elgibility Criteria:

To be eligiblility to appear for the KCET Exam 2017 the following criteria must be followed. The candidate:
Must have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or 12th standard or equivnalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subject and English with one of the languages of study to be eligible. for KCET.
Must have secured 50% marks in aggregate to satisfy eligibility criteria under KCET.
For admission to Architecture course, the candidate should compulsorily appear for NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture for eligibility in KCET.
Students from outside of Karnataka including the wards of Jammu and Kashmir Migrants can also apply as per eligibility. Also the candidates who have done class 12th from Karnataka Open State University are not eligible for KCET.
Note that candidates who have studied 10 academic years in Kannada medium from class 1st to class 10th outside Karnataka need not to appear for KCET Exam as per eligibility.

Application Process For KCET EXAM 2017:

The process of KCET Exam application will begin from 13th January, 2017.

The Registration Process Of KCET Exam Involves:

Registration of applicant:

Visit the official KCET website and fill in your personal, academic and communication details.
Choose your preferred exam center for the KCET Exam.
Create a unique password and a security question to secure the password for KCET admit card and results.
Check the information you entered once again and then click the Final Submit button.
Uploading of images which include thumb impression, signature and photograph
Click on the upload photograph and browse your computer to upload a photograph. The photograph must be in JPG/JPEG format, should not be larger than 40 kb and its dimensions should be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
Click on the blank area to upload signature and browse your computer. The signature should be in JPG/JPEG format, the file size should not be larger than 40 kb and its dimensions should be 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.
Click on the blank area to upload the left hand thumb impression. The thumb impression should be in JPEG format, its size should not be larger than 40 kb and its dimensions should be 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.
Payment of the fees.
The fees for KCET Exam can be paid through demand draft. The Demand Draft must be drawn in favour of "Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority", payable at Bangalore.
Or through a bank challan at any of the branches of State Bank of Mysore, Syndicate Bank, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India, Axis Bank, or e-post office.
There are reservations for NCC, Sports, Scouts and Guides and Defence Special Category provided for KCET.
