The NID (National Institute of Design) came into existence in the year 1961. The Institute has three campuses located in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Bengaluru. NID 2017 will be conducted by the National Institute of Design and will offer admissions to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of design.
The test will shortlist the suitable candidates for 4 years BDS and 2.5 years MDS programmes on the basis of their performance in the three tests, Design Aptitude Test (DAT), Studio Test, and Personal Interview.
Design Aptitude Test is organized at various cities all across the country. Students will be evaluated for their DAT scores and then called for Studio Test and Personal Interview.

Eligibility Criteria for NID:
Before applying candidates should check the NID eligibility criteria. The NID eligibility criteria is a set of requirements that all candidates need to fulfill in order to be eligible for writing NID.
Eligibility criteria for undergraduate courses:
The maximum age limit for the NID candidates to appear for the exam is 20 years for them to satisfy the eligibility criteria for NID. However for reserved category candidates, the age limit is different, there will be relaxation of three years.
Candidates must have passed 12th examination or those appearing in 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board to satisfy the eligibility criteria for NID.
Eligibility criteria for postgraduate courses:
The maximum age limit is 30 years of age for them to satisfy the eligibility criteria for NID. However the reserved category has a different age limit, three years relaxation is allowed for reserved category.
Candidates should have cleared the bachelor's degree to satisfy the eligibility criteria for NID. Those appearing in bachelor's degree in any discipline from any institution or university recognized by law in India are also eligible to apply.

NID 2017 Syllabus:
Students aspiring to follow design courses from NID should follow the below NID syllabus topics carefully. There is no fixed syllabus prescribed for the NID exam, however, candidates can prepare for topics such as below.
The studio test will comprise of different sections in different formats like hands on practical assignment, group discussion, etc.

NID 2017 Application Procedure:
The candidate can fill the NID application form via online mode.
Candidates need to visit the NID official website to fill and submit the NID 2017 application form.
Candidates are required to fill up the NID form very carefully to ensure and provide only genuine information while filling up the NID form.
The application forms will be available on the NID official website from the 2nd week of October, 2016.
Candidates are advised to go through the information booklet before filling up the NID form.
Thereafter candidates are required to upload the scanned images of photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
Candidate should note that if NID fees is being paid through demand draft, then the candidate must send the printout of the NID application form along with DD to at the following address before the due date.
